Founded and run by a retired police officer

Someone you can trust with a key, checking on your Michigan home.

While you are away for the winter, we walk your Michigan house on a schedule, check every room and every system, and email you a photo report the same day. If something is wrong, you get a phone call, not a form.

  • Law enforcement only

Every visit is made by a retired or serving officer. Never a stranger from an app.

  • Background checked

The same standard we lived under on the job, for anyone who touches your keys.

  • Insured and bonded

Owner operated. Serving Metro Detroit and the Grosse Pointes.

Why it is called Blue Integrity

Blue is for the badge.

Blue Integrity was founded by a retired police officer. Being trusted with keys, codes, and empty houses was the job. So was noticing what is out of place: a latch that is not how it was, tire tracks in fresh snow, a flyer on the porch that has sat there all week.

That is the standard for everyone who will ever walk your house. Retired or serving law enforcement, background checked, and answerable to the owner personally. No subcontractors. No gig workers.

Trained to notice

A home watch visit is an observation job. We do it the way we were taught: same route, every time, eyes open for what changed.

Used to being accountable

Every visit is time stamped, photographed, and kept. You will always know who was in your house and when.

Calm when it is bad

A burst pipe at 7 AM is not an emergency to someone who has handled real ones. The house gets protected first, then you get the call.

Discreet

Your alarm codes and key locations are stored encrypted and shown only on the phone during a visit. They never appear in a report or an email.

An empty house in a Michigan winter is a house waiting for something to go wrong.

A furnace quits on a Tuesday night. A pipe on an outside wall freezes. A sump pump stalls during a thaw. None of it makes a sound a thousand miles away. By the time anyone notices, the damage is weeks old and the insurance company has questions.

We catch it early

Every visit tests the furnace, runs the water, checks the sump pump, and looks for the first sign of trouble, so a small problem stays small.

You hear from a person

Anything marked Problem gets a phone call that day, before the report goes out. We can meet the plumber or the furnace company at the house so you do not have to fly home.

You have a record

Every report is dated, photographed, and kept. If you ever need to show an adjuster the house was being checked, it is one click away.

Worth checking your policy

Many homeowner policies expect a vacant house to be checked regularly.

Coverage for freezing and water damage often depends on someone visiting the home on a schedule while you are away, and being able to prove it. Our reports are that proof: the date, the time, what was checked, and photos, kept for as long as you are a client.

Ask your agent what your policy requires. Most people are surprised.

What every report proves

  • Who was there, and when they arrived and left
  • Every item checked, with the result next to it
  • Photos of the furnace, sump pit, thermostat, and the front door on exit
  • Anything flagged, what it looked like, and what happened next

How it works

  1. 1

    We meet at the house

Before you leave, we walk the house with you. Where the shutoffs are, what the thermostat should read, who plows, what you want brought inside. We take a key or a code and store it securely.

  2. 2

    We visit on a schedule

Weekly, every two weeks, or monthly, your choice. Each visit follows the same 53 item checklist, top to bottom, so nothing gets skipped on a cold day.

  3. 3

You get the report that day

By email, with photos and a plain summary. If something needs fixing, we call you first and can arrange and meet the repair.

What a visit covers

Fifty three items, the same order every time, so nothing gets skipped on a cold day. Here are the ones that matter most in a Michigan winter.

See all 53 items
  • Furnace running, filter, thermostat reading
  • Sump pump tested with water every visit
  • Every faucet run, every toilet flushed
  • Pipes on outside walls and in crawl spaces
  • Water heater and main shutoff
  • Roof, gutters, and ice dams from the ground
  • Doors, windows, locks, and alarm
  • Refrigerator and freezer temperatures
  • Signs of leaks, mice, or frost
  • Driveway plowed, walks cleared
  • Mail, packages, and flyers brought in
  • Vehicles started, generator run

Who runs it

Founded by Gary, a retired police officer.

Blue Integrity is owner operated on the east side, where Gary lives. The person who learns where your shutoff is and how your furnace sounds is the same person checking on it in February.

The name is the promise. You get the truth about your house, in plain words, every time.

Leave for the winter knowing the right person has the key.
